CASE STUDY

SkyDxddy had 2 websites and a separate store already up and running by the time they realized it was time for a change. When referred to us, she wasn’t quite sure how to move forward and clean up the confusion around having multiple websites that were already publicly available. Her websites were both out of date, and mostly an eyesore. Her and her management team looked to us for advice on how best to handle both websites, multiple separate touring platforms, as well as how to best manage multiple CRM integrations they were currently using at the same time. Challenge accepted.

THE OPPORTUNITY

WEBSITE

The first priority was consolidation. From a marketing standpoint, having multiple websites for the same purpose is redundant and confusing for your fans. So we decided to make a new website altogether that would replace both as a one-stop shop for everything concerning SkyDxddy. We took over the main URL after discussing the SEO merits with her management and then went to work on design.

We wanted it to be simple, yet eye-catching. It also had to reflect her upcoming album release, “TRAUMACORE”, giving us a black and red motif for the entirety of the website. We didn’t want a lot of pages and wanted to keep it simple per her preferences, ultimately opting for only 4 pages; Main, Live Shows/Tour, Merch, and Newsletter.

The next (and biggest) challenge was functionality. Consolidating multiple websites was simple enough, but finding a way to handle the multiple ticket sale websites, multiple marketing platforms, and CRMs all in one place was another matter altogether. After integrating all of them, we were all unsatisfied with the design. There were simply too many options wherever you looked. The solution we came up with was to build it all from scratch. So we built a ticket storefront for her touring page that allowed you to purchase tickets from their choice of options with 1 click. And it allowed you to request a show via 2 provided options. For their CRM and Marketing opportunities, we created integrations from scratch so that we had complete control over their look and interface. On the backend, nothing changed, so they could still log into those platforms’ websites to get all of the information as usual.

And finally, we opted to fully integrate/absorb the existing merch store into the new website. This was cost-effective, and made sure to avoid having to reinvent the wheel by building an entirely new store, starting the SEO on it over from 0, and breaking the sales funnel for anyone who had her merch saved. The simple redirect kept things running smoothly and prevented any interruption in services, and allowed them to stick with what they were already satisfied with.

THE RESULT

Our goal here was to make the complex, simple. Not only did we cut the confusion in her fanbase about which site(s) to go to, which drastically improved her SEO… but we also rejuvenated her website giving it a fresh look and a theme to match her current work. We’ve made it easier for them to handle the their information gathering by consolidating and creating new simple integrations, and even handled things on the backend for them like creating Google Pixel integrations. And according to the monthly performance reports we provide, her fans are loving the new site…seeing a big increase on impressions, retention, and clicks month over month. This project was a great success, and there’s still a lot more to come.
